[Music] hello today I show you how to compress a lot of files into one large file and this is often easier to send for example to colleagues or friends that you have requested a lot of files from you on a Mac this is pretty easy you just go into finder window and navigate to your documents you want to compress this case we are in my local Documents folder you can just click and hold your mouse and drag a rectangle around the data you want to select you can do the same in this view you can just click hold and drag to select the data you dont need but this is of course not very accurate so if you want to now make a selection a bit more refined just press and hold the command key which is left and right from the spacebar and click to select or deselect individual files in this case Im going to include those folders into my archive now to a right click and choose compress the items you selected or if you dont know yet how to right-click go over the finder here under file compress five

Heres how: Open Terminal. Enter the following command: cd desktop. Press enter on your Macs keyboard. Enter the following command: zip -e [zipped filename] Note: Do not use brackets. If your filename were test.zip, you would enter: zip -e test.zip. Press enter. Terminal will ask for you to assign and verify a password.
How to zip files on an Android Open the File Manager app and move all the flies you want to compress to a single folder. Tap on the three dots in the right-hand corner. Select all the items you want to zip, and at the bottom tap Compress. Then select Save and a new folder will be created with the compressed files.
Right-click on the file or folder. Move your cursor over the Send to option. This will open a new submenu. Select Compressed (zipped) folder. To place multiple files into a zip folder, select all of the files while hitting the Ctrl button.

Zip files are a collection of various files that have been compressed into one file. Zip files are easy to send and transfer since they decrease the file size. Both Mac and Windows come with an inbuilt compression feature that enables you to zip files. The zip files put all your files in one place.
If you cant compress your files and folders, check the permissions settings for those items. If permissions arent correct, you might not be able to copy, move, or overwrite certain items. On your Mac, select the item, then choose File Get Info, or press Command-I.

The compressed (zipped) version also remains. Right-click the zipped folder saved to your computer. Choose Extract All (an extraction wizard will begin). Click [Next ]. Click [Browse] and navigate to where you would like to save the files. Click [Next ]. Click [Finish].
