hi everyone sometimes you wont use this entry to be surrounded with a quick double quotation mark let me run the program and show you what i mean so if i entered the string for example tree and when i hit enter its displaying back to me saying the string input tree was entered by user now just to make it more obvious that tree is the users entry i might want to surround this with double quotations so to do that i would use the backward slash and then do a double quotation this will be the start of my double quotation so let me show you what that looks like so again um tree so youll see that it added a double quotation at the start and now if i wanted another one towards the end then i would backward slash again and double quotation one more time so tree and there we have it i hope this helps you and ill see you in the next

Quotation marks around single words can occasionally be used for emphasis, but only when quoting a word or term someone else used. Usually, this implies that the author doesnt agree with the use of the term. He said he was working; it looked to me like he was procrastinating.
Quoting a quote That is to say, what do you do when youre quoting material that already contains a quote? The principle doesnt change. In American English, use double quotes for the outside quote and single quotes for the inside quote. In British English, do the opposite.
When researching, you may find many instances of a quotation within a quotation (that is, the author you are quoting has quoted another author) in scholarly essays. In this case, you use the single quotation marks () for the quote within the quote.
Since printf uses (double quotes) to identify starting and ending point of a message, we need to use \ escape sequence to print the double quotes.
Use single quotation marks to enclose a quotation within a quotation. She said, People who say Let me be honest with you seldom are. Use quotation marks when quoting a specific word or phrase.
A quotation, or quote, is an exact repeat of another sources spoken or written words. Quotation marks separate a quotation from the rest of a writers text so that a reader knows which words are not the writers own (or are from a different work by the same writer).
If you cant access the original source, then create a full citation for your indirect source in the Works Cited list. Then, for the in-text or parenthetical citation, use this format: (qtd. in [last name of author of your indirect source] [page number of quotation]).
Use double quotes for a quotation. Joe said, Will you marry me? Use single quotes for a nested quotation, when someone repeats what someone else said. Joe smiled and said, Jenny said yes when I asked her to marry me.
