- Weve created a 3D scene of a VR birthday card from making some more. Weve got lots of cool objects in the scene. Theres a cake, theres some spheres for navigating. Click on a sphere and go right to the birthday cake. But, no birthday card would be complete without actually saying the words happy birthday. To say the words happy birthday, we need some text. And text in 3D is tricky. We could use HTML and put it on top of the scene but the minute we go into immersive mode, thats gonna go away. We only see the 3D content. So that wont work. We could draw text into a texture, and then just splat that inside the scene. And, in fact, the VR stats module I have here is doing exactly that. It uses an HTML canvas, draws some simple text updated three times a second. That becomes a texture, which is then drawn to a rectangle inside. Thats not really three dimensional text. So my third option is, I can actually create some three-dimensional geometry from a small piece of text. And that

The Common Gateway Interface (CGI) is an intersection between web servers through which the standardized data exchange between external applications and servers is possible. It belongs to the oldest existing online interface technologies and is still used regularly today.
For example, when using the CGI interface, the script receives the data in an environment variable (QUERYSTRING) when GET is used. But when POST is used, form data is passed in the standard input stream (stdin) and the number of bytes to be read is given by the Content-length header.
An example of a CGI program is one implementing a wiki. If the user agent requests the name of an entry, the Web server executes the CGI program. The CGI program retrieves the source of that entrys page (if one exists), transforms it into HTML, and prints the result.
You are using: GET when you want to retrieve data (GET DATA). POST when you want to send data (POST DATA).
Both GET and POST method is used to transfer data from client to server in HTTP protocol but Main difference between POST and GET method is that GET carries request parameter appended in URL string while POST carries request parameter in message body which makes it more secure way of transferring data from client to
First CGI Program Here is a simple link, which is linked to a CGI script called hello.py. This file is kept in /var//cgi-bin directory and it has following content. Before running your CGI program, make sure you have change mode of file using chmod 755 hello.py UNIX command to make file executable.
The METHOD attribute specifies how the server will send the form information to the program. POST sends the data through standard input, while GET passes the information through environment variables. If no method is specified, the server defaults to GET.
Passing Information Using POST Method A generally more reliable method of passing information to a CGI program is the POST method. This packages the information in exactly the same way as GET methods, but instead of sending it as a text string after a ? in the URL it sends it as a separate message.
