[music playing] MICHAEL KEMPSON: Experienced screen printers often require more exacting systems of registration to achieve a higher standard of print quality. The pin and tab method will offer precise registration of printed layers and can be used in conjunction with a vacuum printing table. Remember, that when working in the screen printing studios you need appropriate clothing and you must wear enclosed shoes. Lab coats are also provided, and hearing protection must be used during the operation of the vacuum printing table. Your paper needs to be prepared and its best to begin by trimming all of your archival printing paper to size. Have available a minimum of two registration pins. Summary. Line Table Screen Printing is mostly used in Asia, Africa, and South America. Its a screen printing technique, where you have pallets next to each other, aligned like a table.
The manual process used to print a roll of cloth with the help of manpower on the wax table is called the table printing process.
Screenprinting is a process where ink is forced through a mesh screen onto a surface. Making certain areas of the screen impervious to printing ink creates a stencil, which blocks the printing ink from passing through the screen. The ink that passes through forms the printed image.
Brief note on Hand Block Printing: The first textile-printing technique (making impressions) was that using blocks with raised printing surfaces, which were inked and then pressed on to the fabric. By repetition, the image from a single block builds up into a complete design over the fabric area.
The table is usually 6 meters in length, by 50 inches wide and has at least 10 layers of jute fabric, a blanket layer and a thick cotton sheet on the top that is tightly tucked in from all sides of the table. All of these layers help the block print to properly absorb and print onto the fabric.
