When we edit a document, we will inevitably need to enter some symbols that are not directly entered by the keyboard input method. So, how do we insert the special symbols that we need? Take this document as an example. We want to tick the tourist attractions we have visited to facilitate statistics. Click the position where we want to insert the symbol and click the Insert tab and the Symbol drop-down button. We can see Recently Used Symbols and Custom Symbols here. These are the symbols that are frequently used in daily document editing, and we can choose the symbols we need. In addition, clicking More Symbols will bring up the Symbol dialog box, which contains more symbols. In the Symbols tab, we can select the font we want inFont, so that the corresponding symbol style will be changed as well. Click the Insert tab. Then click the drop-down button of Equation. Finally, click Equation Editor to open it. In the pop-up Equation Editor edit box, enter the formula and click Close, The formula will be inserted into the slide as a picture.
Use the keyboard shortcut – ALT + 30 (you need to hold the ALT key and then press 30 from the numeric keypad of your keyboard).
Place your cursor to where you want to embed an object, then head to the Insert tab, select Object. A dialogue box will pop up, where we could select Create new or Create from file. In the Create new interface, we can select different types of blank documents at the Object type, but we need to edit them manually.
First, in your document, put the cursor where you want the degree symbol. Then, on your keyboard, press the Alt+0176 keys.
Place your cursor in the file at the spot where you want to insert the symbol. Go to Insert > Symbol. Pick a symbol, or choose More Symbols. Scroll up or down to find the symbol you want to insert.
Click the Insert tab, and then click the Symbol button. In this Symbol popup window, we can freely choose and add the symbols we want to insert.
Place the cursor where you want to insert the degree symbol. On your keyboard, press Alt + 0176.
On the Insert menu, click Advanced Symbol, and then click the Symbols tab. Click the symbol that you want.
Inserting ASCII characters To insert an ASCII character, press and hold down ALT while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree (º) symbol, press and hold down ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad. You must use the numeric keypad to type the numbers, and not the keyboard.
Head to the Insert tab and click the Icon Library button. Here we have several options as Recommended, Business, Education, and other types of icons. You can choose an icon style you like, and click the desired icon to insert into the document quickly after entering the details page.
