So lets take a look at how to get exactly the page numbers that you want. Pages has, of course, two modes. Word Processing and Page Layout. Lets start by looking at Word Processing. Im going to create a blank document and Im going to paste in some text here to fill out the document. So as you can see Ive got a bunch of pages here. Lets go back to the top and add page numbering. In Page Thumbnails view, select any page in the section that comes before where you want to add a new section. Open the Document sidebar, then click the Section tab at the top. Click the Create a new section pop-up menu, then choose After this section.
Select the shape or text box to which you want to add, change, or remove a border. Click Shape Format, and then click the arrow next to Shape Outline. Either click the color that you want, or mix your own color by clicking More Outline Colors. Point to Weight, and then choose the line weight that you want.
On the Text Box Tools Format tab, in the Linking group, click Create Link. Click in the text box you want as the next in the story. This text box is now connected to the first box and any text in the overflow now appears in the next box. To connect more text boxes to the story, repeat steps 3 and 4.
Add or remove a text outline In the Format sidebar, click the Style button near the top. If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Style button. , then select or deselect the Outline checkbox.
