setState() schedules an update to a components state object.
Syntax: We can use setState() to change the state of the component directly as well as through an arrow function. Example 1: Updating single attribute. We set up our initial state value inside constructor function and create another function updateState() for updating the state.
The setState() schedule changes to the components state object and tells React that the component and its children must rerender with the updated state: // Correct this.
While both hold information that influences the output of render, they are different in one important way: props get passed to the component (similar to function parameters) whereas state is managed within the component (similar to variables declared within a function).
The useState Hook can be used to keep track of strings, numbers, booleans, arrays, objects, and any combination of these! We could create multiple state Hooks to track individual values.
There are two ways to initialize state in a React component: inside the constructor, and directly inside the class.
What Is State in ReactJS? The state is a built-in React object that is used to contain data or information about the component. A components state can change over time; whenever it changes, the component re-renders.
setState() allows you to change state in a React class component. To change the state of a function component, you use the useState() hook. Learn more about it here. setState() enqueues change to the component state and tell React that this component and its children need to be re-rendered with the updated state.
The state is an instance of React Component Class can be defined as an object of a set of observable properties that control the behavior of the component. In other words, the State of a component is an object that holds some information that may change over the lifetime of the component.
To make the state change, React gives us a setState function that allows us to update the value of the state. Calling setState automatically re-renders the entire component and all its child components. We dont need to manually re-render as seen previously using the renderContent function.
