Yes, a lease can automatically renew in Florida. As long as there is a provision in the lease that states the lease will renew, the tenant and landlord can continue normally after the original term of the lease expires. If there is no provision included in the lease, it is assumed to be terminated on expiration.
NOTE: If you vacate the premises prior to the end of your lease or if your rental agreement, whether written or oral, does not contain a provision as to the duration of your tenancy, you must give at least 7 days written notice by certified mail or hand delivery to your landlord stating the date you will be out and
In Florida, landlords only have to give tenants 15 days notice to terminate the lease. Ending a month-to-month lease in Florida is a lot simpler than ending a year-long leaselandlords and tenants can terminate their agreement at any time, as long as they give a minimum of 15 days written notice.
The landlord must provide such written notice to the tenant within 15 days before the start of the notification period contained in the lease. The written notice shall list all fees, penalties, and other charges applicable to the tenant under this subsection.
