To create a fenced code block that spans multiple lines of code, set the text inside three or more backquotes ( ``` ) or tildes ( ~~~ ).
You can create fenced code blocks by placing triple backticks ``` before and after the code block. We recommend placing a blank line before and after code blocks to make the raw formatting easier to read. There are two ways to format code in Markdown. You can either use inline code, by putting backticks (`) around parts of a line, or you can use a code block, which some renderers will apply syntax highlighting to.

Use bold formatting, or ** , for UI elements and at the beginning of notices. Although a double underscore, , can also indicate bold styling in Markdown, it can be difficult to distinguish in a text editor. Its best to use the double asterisk for bold in Markdown.
Embedding Code in Markdown. If youre writing your code in markdown, the easiest way to embed snippets is to use fenced code blocks, which also allows syntax highlighting. GitHub URL Tutorial On the GitHub website, click on you repository of interest. Locate the green button named Code and click on it. The GitHub URL will appear. Copy the GitHub URL. Open a Git client such as the BASH shell or GitHub Desktop on your local machine. Use the GitHub URL to clone the remote repo.
