[Music] to get started I have an image that Id like to add a drop shadow to lets begin by double-clicking to the right of our image layers name to open up the layer Styles dialog box scroll down to where it says drop shadow and select it if you dont see the drop shadow option click this little FX button and select it from the list as far as settings go the shadows opacity is going to change how transparent your shadow is I like to keep mine above 80 the distance is going to be how far away your shadow is cast from the object Ill just leave that at 15 the spread is how much area you shadow covers Im going to put mine at around 40 and the size is how big your shadow is Im going to put that at 42 once youre satisfied with your shadow just hit OK keep in mind that creating shadows through text works exactly the same way just double click to the right of your text layers name alright and thats it for this tutorial thanks for watching and see you next time [Music]
