Set clear expectations with your client. Let your client know how many final images you expect to create and never over-promise. A reasonable offer might be about 50 to 75 images for an hour-long event.
So the best way to deal with organizing the images is to break them into smaller categories and then work with one folder at a time. We recommend doing this in the same order the wedding took place. Going by the folders chronologically ensures you do not miss out on any special photography moments.
As a general rule, you can expect to receive between 50 and 100 photos per hour of shooting time. But theres no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Of course, this depends on various factors such as the type of shoot, how many people are involved, and what you want to achieve.
Four Hours Generally speaking, high-end wedding photographers offer this in their starter packages. They know that images are whats most important for some couples and four hours is just enough time to photograph the end of the getting ready portion, ceremony, and formals.
If your wedding photography session spans from noon-4pm, you are looking at anywhere from 200-400 photos in the final delivery package, following the standard of an additional 50-100 for each hour increase thereafter. Time, however, is not the only measurement.
However, the good news is that the photos usually arent taken all at once, and the time is broken up throughout your day. Most photographers say you need about 30 minutes for wedding party portraits, 30 minutes for family portraits (close family only), and 45 minutes for couple portraits.
Some photographers work 40 hours a week( and up to 60-80+ hours a week during busy season), while some full time photographers are only working 30 hours a month(me). How many hours you work all depends on how important that work life balance is to you and your long term goals for your photography business.
Photographers usually take between 20 and 60 polished pictures in an hour. The number of photos depends on the shoots type, control during the session, and subjects. Business headshots can give about 15 top quality images in an hour while couple shoots might offer 50 to 100 quality photos.
