Captions Describe who is in the photograph(s) and/or project and what is going on within the photograph(s) and/or project. Name the city, region or state, and country where the photograph(s) and/or project was made. Provide the date the photograph(s) and/or project was made.
Include captions: Use captions with your photos to make them even more interesting. Describe whats going on in the photo using a complete sentence or two (with a verb). Remember the credit: Be sure to credit the photographer in each caption. Use Photo by (name of photographer, and company, if applicable).
Images work best when they are eye-catching, high quality, and relevant. Steer clear of generic stock photos. Instead, choose images that clearly relate to your story, as in the above examples. For visual press releases, its best to use high quality, high-resolution photos.
How to write a nonprofit press release? Start with the 5Ws: the who, what, when, where, and why of your story. Add necessary context, supporting details, and quotes. End with information about your nonprofit.
The legalistic complexities of obtaining permission to use photos in promoting the good works of a non-profit organization or the products of a business can be distilled to this: If a photo is used to make money, get a photo release signed.
Captions should add new information. Dont merely repeat the story headline or summary, and avoid stating the obvious elements that are captured in the image. The caption should add context to the image, not just duplicate what the reader already sees. Always identify the main people in the photograph.
Best Practices for Presenting Quotes in Press Releases Write Shorter, Punchier Quotes. When it comes to sound bites, one sentence is usually enough, two is okay, and three is too long, Ann recommends. Reduce the Number of Quotes. Humanize Your Quotes. Display Creativity in Your Quotes.
