all right so when you open pages make sure you hit a blank document youre not going to hit any other of the other templates on that right-hand side youre gonna use the majority of it for formatting and so you have format and document put document this is where youll check your margins there are one inch each the section portion is where youll format your page number which well come back to and then of course were gonna stick mostly with formatting right now to set everything up so look at that top part youre gonna hit body were gonna work both in the body and the header and footer so begin with body change your font to Times New Roman once youve done that hit update that way you know it sticks and then change it to twelve point font update and then youre going to do the spacing make sure its double-spaced and then update dont worry about bullets and list just yet were gonna get to that once we start typing once youve done that and then go ahead youre going to hit header

Click the disclosure arrow next to Border, then click the pop-up menu and choose a type of border (line or picture frame). Use the controls that appear to adjust the look of the border.
Add or remove a text outline If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Style button. , then select or deselect the Outline checkbox. If you add an outline, use the controls to change its line type, color, and width.

Add a border or rule to paragraphs Click the line or paragraph (or select multiple paragraphs) where you want to add the border or rule. In the Format sidebar, click the Layout button near the top. Click the pop-up menu next to Borders Rules, then choose a line type (solid, dashed, or dotted).
