welcome to salon TVs series as seen in FileMaker 13 my name is Martha Zink and in this video Im going to focus on using icons with the pop over button and how to make search really easy for your users in this file I have a really simple project list so youll see that I have a total of five projects and I actually have two popovers here I have a menu popover that would let me get to other parts of the database and then I also have this icon thats a magnifying glass from a users perspective I would assume that thats going to help me search this layout so I can click here type Z for zinc and there we go which is by hitting the return key I was able to get my phone set its a really simple little thing right its just an icon of a magnifying glass but it can be really powerful for a user and where this really applies is when you dont have the tool bar showing so if my layout looked like this and I couldnt access the quick find within the tool bar how else can your user do it well i

Looks and dashboards are the two major building blocks in Looker. Looks: Looks are the saved visualizations that can be created by the Business User. These single visualizations are created in the explore section of the Looker and are used to understand and analyze the data.
Add to dashboard adds the look to the dashboard. These are therefore linked, and any changes to the look will update this look-based tile in the dashboard, and changes to the tile will update the look too. Save to dashboard adds the looks explore query (i.e. lookless tile) to the dashboard.
Editing Looks Select Edit on the saved Looks page to open the Edit Look menu. On the Edit Look menu, make any changes you want to the Looks fields, filters, visualization, and so on. After you make the desired changes, select the Run button to update the data and preview the changes.
To add the look as a tile on the dashboard without linking them, click Save to Dashboard. This means that youll be able to edit the tile and the look independently. To add the look to the dashboard and maintain the link between them, click Add to Dashboard.
