This is Gary with mcb.com showing how to organize files on a Mac using the Documents folder. There are many ways to do it, but using the Documents folder is advised. Start by organizing files into folders on the desktop, then use the Finder app to manage and organize files. Visit mmos.com patreon for more information and exclusive content.

In your document, place the insertion point where you want the list to begin. Type a dash, a bullet (Option-8), or a letter or number followed by a period and a space (such as 1. or A. followed by a space). Type the first item in your list, then press Return.
Select and hold the Alt key on the numeric keypad. Type the bullet alt code (0149) in sequence using the numeric keypad. Release the Alt key after typing the numeric code to insert the first bullet point in the document. Repeat for the second bullet point and so on.
