Microsoft Word can now be highlighted. To highlight text over images in Microsoft Word, first insert the picture by clicking on the "Insert" tab and selecting "Insert Picture." Choose the picture you want to highlight text on and click insert. Once the image is inserted, insert a rectangular shape by going to the "Insert" tab again, clicking on "Shapes" in the "Illustration" group, and selecting the rectangle shape. Draw the rectangular shape over the text you want to highlight, right-click the shape, and select "Format Shape" in the "Format Shape" pane. Change the solid fill color to the desired highlight color, such as yellow. Adjust the fill transparency as desired to make the content below the shape visible. Finally, select "No Line" for the shape's border by choosing the option from the drop-down menu beside "Line." Deselect anywhere on the document to finalize the text highlighting over images.
