The short version is this: if the top left of your PowerPoint screen looks like this (has 9 dots arranged in a square), youre using the web version, which doesnt have the Insert | Equations feature.
You can add a formula to a PowerPoint slide using the Equation Editor or by typing the formula as text. Heres how to add a formula using the Equation Editor: Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon. Click the Equation button in the Text group.
