He then earned a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Investigation at Northwestern, where he also completed a residency internal medicine in that area at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Then came back to Northwestern for a fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology.
