ladies and germs welcome to TF I just done a tutorial on embossing text onto a curved surface and the technique that I used in that video which you can go check out because you might pick up some other things from that but the technique that I used I figured could be used for laser etched text on sheet metal and it works so thats what this ones all about now this is an advanced tutorial Im gonna go through this pretty quickly Im not gonna explain anything as I go or any basics as I go so if you if you want to keep up you can do but this is considered an advanced tutorial so its all about this but a metal with some text edged on it its not cutting through the metal its itching so for example Ive seen various posts with regards to advice given on how to cut text through metal are using emboss using extrude those techniques and emboss and extrude dont work for etching it just does not work and theres also an idea station post out fillets a text as well which was some suggestions

To make engrave the name on the box, you have to go to the features command manager and select Extrude cut tool. Adjust the extrude cut length of the text by using the “depth” on the extrude cut property manager. Then click Ok. Create the text on the model surface and apply extrude cut feature to make it engraved.
