Adding Endorsement Areas. Submit your free application, verify your status as a current teacher, and complete a phone call with an advisor. Take and pass the MTTC for your new endorsement area(s). Fulfill the time-taught requirement for your endorsement area on your Interim Teaching Certificate.
Students must complete EDA 519, EDB 503, EDC 560, and at least 6 additional hours in Core and Professional Studies courses before they will be approved to register for EDD 560.

An endorsement can be added to a Michigan teaching certificate by way of one of the following paths: Complete a state-approved endorsement program with at least 20 semester credit hours of coursework through a state-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP).
Teachers who wish to add or upgrade an ESL endorsement must see a teacher certification advisor to plan an endorsement program (call 517-353-9680 to schedule an appointment; this can be a telephone appointment).
The Social Studies (RX) endorsement qualifies teachers to teach Social Studies as well as the sub-areas of Geography, History, Political Science, Civics/Government and Economics, without completing the coursework or passing the individual MTTC required for certification in these sub- areas.
Teachers who wish to add or upgrade an ESL endorsement must see a teacher certification advisor to plan an endorsement program (call 517-353-9680 to schedule an appointment; this can be a telephone appointment).
Log in to your educator account, to verify your passing scores and select Applications. Select Additional Certification by Examination and complete the application. The new certificate area will be added to your existing certificate pending a clean background check.
