hey there Ash here from quota and today were going to look at our product configurator and how you can pre-build items that enable your sales people to offer volume discounts percentage-based add-ons and other features with a few clicks without making any errors so that your pricing remains accurate on all of your quotes Im going to start with a brand new quote and use a template that has no line items on it already now you could pre-build line items onto this template to save yourself more time if you are regularly quoting the same line items Ill quickly look up a person in my PSA CRM or in quota now lets add some line items so the first thing Im going to add is an on-site visit maybe were doing an installation we need to make sure that we can bring our security cameras to their location and identify how much its going to cost to them so Ill look up visit here to find that line item and Ill close the pop-up right away you can see that weve added two line items actually so t

What information needs to be on a quote? Your business name and address. The customers name and address. A unique quote number. The quote issue date. The quote expiry date. The description and prices of the products/services. The total amount of the sale.
At a minimum, a professional quote generally contains: An itemized list of goods and/or services requested by the client or customer. Prices for each item including labor costs, taxes and discounts. Disclaimers on the scope of the product or project. Payment terms and contact information for follow-up.
Itemizating an estimate is the process of breaking down that estimate and providing individual prices for each piece. If thats what you want, you should expect to pay for that effort. However, your contractor should always provide you with full detail on what work is and isnt included in the firm fixed price.

To add a line item to a quote: Click Add Products in Lightning Experience or Add Line Item in Salesforce Classic in the Quote Line Items related list. If no price book was selected on the opportunity, select a price book for the quote. Otherwise, the quote uses the opportunitys price book.
A product quotation format is a document businesses use to create a rough cost estimate and share it with customers before finalising a deal. It includes essential invoice elements that help calculate total amounts and display discounts and taxes involved in the transaction.
Quoting basics When you quote, you include the words and ideas of others in your text exactly as they have expressed them. You signal this inclusion by placing quotation marks ( ) around the source authors words and providing an in-text citation after the quotation.
Select a Template. Creating winning quotes is a learning process. Add Client Information. Make sure you include who the quote is for. Enter the Quote Number. Include a Date of Issue. Enter Products or Services. Add Terms and Conditions. Include Notes. Add Optional Details.
