[Music] hello amigos and welcome back in todays two minute tip im going to show you how to record raw images to one memory card and jpeg images to the other so first of all push the menu button here and go to the first tab number one so yellow one then click on record function card folder this brings up a sub menu then the first option here gives you the ability to record still images on one memory card and video on the other but for our purpose we must make sure that this is on disable which ive just hit wrong to save so next we go down to record options so the standard this simply records whatever file format you select and saves it to whatever card is free it doesnt back up or anything like that uh auto switch card so if youve got say jpeg on one card as soon as that card is full it will just automatically switch to car two so its not a backup system it just goes card one it gets full card two record separately this is the one that i like to choose because i shoot raw on card

The main advantage of shooting in RAW is that you end up with high-quality files to edit into the best possible image. Capturing and storing all the details that pass through your cameras sensors means RAW files contain a wider dynamic range and far greater color spectrum than JPEGs.
Is it worth shooting RAW on iPhone? If youre going to be editing the picture, the answer is yes. Youll love all the control and the level of detail youre getting with each image. But if youre just taking everyday, run-of-the-mill pictures, you probably dont want to waste storage space on those.
Higher image quality translates into more available data when it comes to photo editing, giving RAWs a definitive edge over JPEGs. Editing programs like docHub Camera RAW, Bridge, or Lightroom are built for fine-tuning RAWs into polished final photos.
Its because when you shoot in JPEG mode, your camera applies sharpening, contrast, color saturation, and all sorts of little tweaks to create a fully processed, good-looking final image.
iPhoto imports RAW-format photos in the same way it imports any other photos, organizes them next to your other shots, and lets you edit them using advanced editing tools designed for RAW photos.

ProRAW gives you greater creative control when editing photos. Apple ProRAW combines the information of a standard RAW format along with iPhone image processing, which gives you more flexibility when editing the exposure, color, and white balance in your photo.
With iOS 14.3 or later and an iPhone 12 Pro or later Pro models, your phone can capture images in ProRAW format using any of its cameras, including when also using the Smart HDR, Deep Fusion, or Night mode features. * You can edit ProRAW photos in the Photos app and other third-party photo apps.
You can use several photo apps within Apple Photos for editing RAW files, I like Pixelmator Pro for its good integration, but Affinity Photo and Raw Power can also be used.
The short answer is: yes. Converting a RAW file to JPEG affects the quality of the image itself. The only thing that changes is the format - raw files are typically converted to JPEGs so they can be viewed on devices like computers, phones, and cameras.
