when Im getting quotes from a contractor a lot of people are surprised to find out that I dont actually really get quotes a lot of times Ill give them the scope of work but then they just kind of send me their price and thats really about it and then they ask me for the checks as they go and this is a lot of times how contractors will end up operating when you get to higher levels as a beginner you want like broken down quotes itemized and if you think about the amount of work that is involved with that especially when they might not even get the job youre going to see that a lot of experienced contractors some of the best contractors wont work for you if you want this fully itemized broken down quote so if youre starting out in real estate and you actually want to work with a contractor whos been recommended I would try not to give them so much work that they just get exhausted with the idea of working for you for an entire two-month project
