[Music] whats up everyone another quick video coming at you guys today were gonna look at how we can add badges uh into our swift ui apps now badges probably should have been in the first iteration of swift ui i dont know why apple didnt include this the first time but basically when we have a tab bar and we want to put a little icon indicating how maybe how many notifications are on that tab we do that using a batch weve had badges in ui kit for a long time now but we did not have them in swift ui until ios 15. so in this video were going to take a quick look at how we can add a badge were also going to look at how we can add badges or badges uh to lists so we can add them to lists they look a little different not like a typical badge its still called badge though uh but still a nice feature to have so lets jump into xcode and take a look all right we are back in our xcode project lets right click the navigator create a new file itll be a swift ui view and lets call this

Make sure alerts arent turned off in Notifications settings. Choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down). Go to App Notifications on the right, click Calendar, then select Banners or Alerts as the alert style.
Turn on App icon badges from Settings. Navigate back to the main Settings screen, tap Notifications, and then tap Advanced settings. Tap the switch next to App icon badges to turn them on.

Make sure either All or Smart option is ticked. On your Mac, open System Settings Notifications Spark. Make sure the Badge app icon option is enabled.
The easy way: 1) Open the Applications folder and make sure it isnt taking the whole screen. 2) Drag an application from here onto Macs desktop to create its shortcut icon. 1) Go to the Applications folder. 2) Select an app and right-click on it. 3) Drag the newly created shortcut to your Macs desktop.
On your Mac, open System Settings Notifications Spark. Make sure the Badge app icon option is enabled.
Turn on App icon badges from Settings. Navigate back to the main Settings screen, tap Notifications, and then tap Advanced settings. Tap the switch next to App icon badges to turn them on.
