LSAC will use this contact information to send your recommender a confirmation of receipt. In the event that a recommender on file in the credential service office is no longer associated with the institution, or has passed away, you should still enter the recommenders name on your LOR Form.
STEP 1: Log in to your LSAC account at .lsac.org. STEP 2: Click on Letters of Recommendation/Evaluations under Credential Assembly Service. STEP 3: Click on the blue button labeled Add/Edit My Recommenders/Evaluators. STEP 4: Click on the blue button labeled Add NEW Recommender/Evaluator.
It is not necessary for the recommender to address each letter to a specific school. If you are applying to five schools and the content is identical for each letter, the recommender need submit only one letter addressed to Dear Admission Committee. Do not have the recommender submit five separate letters.
The student should supply you with a list of addresses. If they dont, docHub out to them to get addresses. Also, its up to you whether you want to put the recipients address on the letter when submitting electronically. If you dont, youll just have the letterhead, the date, and the salutation.
College professors and instructors are the best recommenders for law school. Law schools are most interested in academic letters of recommendation and some will specifically indicate that the letters of recommendation must be academic. Even if the schools dont specify, academic letters are preferred.
It takes approximately two weeks to process a transcript and up to five business days to process a paper letter of recommendation from the time we receive it. Electronic letters of recommendation are usually available as soon as we receive them.
The best way to address your letter is by name if you know the name of the person reading. Often, of course, you wont have that information, in which case you can use a more generic greeting. If youre writing an academic recommendation, you might start with Dear Admissions Committee or Dear Admissions Officer.
