Of our historic Statehouse, General George Washington relinquished command of the Continental forces. Fulfilling what he called an indispensable duty to formally hand over power. And commending the interests of our dearest country to the protection of Almighty God. It was here in this very Chamber. That the Revolutionary War ended with the ratification of the Treaty of Paris, making this very State House our nations first peacetime capital. Next week, we will add yet another important chapter to our states history. With the inauguration of Marylands first black governor and 1st Indian American Lieutenant governor. Visit one of the MVA's full service offices. You don't have to make an appointment, but you can if you want to. Use the MD MVA's Scheduling System if you wish to make an appointment.
Pass a vision test. Pay all applicable driver's license state fees (new Maryland residents will pay $42 to put their name in the state's system, and $72 for all first-time Maryland residents to receive their driver's license as a resident.)
Address changes can be reported: in person at any of the MVA's full service branch offices; or. by mail to the MVA's Corrections Unit in the Glen Burnie office; or. in person at an MVA licensed tag and title service. Note that tag and title services will charge a fee for this service.
To have your license reissued, you will need to pass the applicable vision screening, knowledge and driving skills road test; You may be required to present your age, identity and residency documents. Please start your application online. Notes: You may be able to take the knowledge and skills tests on the same day.
Two proofs of Maryland physical address, such as vehicle registration, insurance card, bank statement, credit card or utility bill or mail from a federal, state or local government agency.

You can now renew or replace your current Drivers License or Maryland MVA ID card online. Please visit mva.maryland.gov for specific information.
