The National Patient Experience Survey is a nationwide survey taking place in May. Over 28,000 patients from 40 public hospitals in Ireland will be asked about their recent stay in hospital. The survey will provide patients the opportunity to tell us about their experience while in hospital, from admission to discharge. All patients 16 years or older who have spent 24 hours or more in a public hospital and are discharged in May 2019 will be invited to participate. Patients will have the opportunity to tell us about every aspect of their care such as confidence and trust in hospital staff, care and treatment on the ward, hospital food, the provision of information and support when leaving hospital. The responses are used to improve hospital care in Ireland. Two weeks after discharge all eligible patients will be sent an invitation to participate in the survey. The survey can be responded to by post or online. If you are invited to participate in the survey, please respond before July 2
