you make a zip compressed file on your Mac locate the files that you need to make into a zip file then either right-click or go up to file and choose new folder and with your new folder add all of the items that you want to make into a zip folder into that folder verify that your items are in a folder and then right click on the folder or go up to the menu bar and choose file compress youll now see that you have a zipped file of all of your files you can remove the original folder if youd like and then when you double click on the zip Mac OS will automatically unzip your files and youve now created a zipped compressed folder on your Mac

Unzip (expand) a compressed item: Double-click the . zip file. The unzipped item appears in the same folder as the . zip file.
If you or your clients use OSX, you will need to do one of the following: Ensure the size of ZIP files uploaded are lower than 4GB (using a split zipped archive may help with this) Create the ZIP file on a different operating system like Windows 10.
Compress a file or folder: Control-click it or tap it using two fingers, then choose Compress from the shortcut menu. If you compress a single item, the compressed file has the name of the original item with the .zip extension. If you compress multiple items at once, the compressed file is called Archive.zip.
Method 1: Unzip File by Using Terminal Firstly, hold Command and press the Spacebar to access Spotlight. There, you need to type Terminal to search and Enter. After that, use the unzip command to open the zip file. You can drag and drop the zip file here.
Unzip (expand) a compressed item: Double-click the .zip file. The unzipped item appears in the same folder as the .zip file.
If you are unable to expand the zip file by simply double-clicking, then use Terminal and try to unzip them. Sometimes, large files dont decompress in the Archive Utility, and hence, they need to be decompressed in the Terminal.
You can use the Mac search at the top right and start typing Terminal. It will appear, click on it to open the program. Type unzip and a space, then drag/drop the zip file into the Terminal window. Press Enter and the zip file will be unzipped, storing all files on your computer.
Again, if you create Zip files and see files that cannot be docHubly compressed, it is probably because they already contain compressed data or they are encrypted. If you would like to share a file or some files that do not compress well, you might: Email photos by zipping and resizing them.
