[Laughter] [Music] ftm-400d im going to show you what the tone squelch holds back when we use it and why we would use it ive got the radial programmed on 146.52 i have the signal generator on 146.52 im gonna im gonna generate a signal you can hear it in the background turn the deviation up so you can hear it [Music] im now going to [Music] bring on the [Music] tone doesnt do anything to receive tone that would indicate that were on the same 100 hertz im going to go in and check that im going to go into signaling and were at 100. im now going to simulate somebody transmitting with a 103.5 hertz tone so well go back to the main screen and you notice the signal is there but were not hearing it so somebody can be transmitting on 146.52 with a different tone that we have programmed in the radio and well hear nothing now if that signal is stronger than the person youre hearing thatll cause you some problems but a distance station you would put the tone squelch on and the pers
