Alex. Ripple (XRP) destination tags are a feature of the XRP network that allows a specific identifier to be attached to a transaction. This is often used to distinguish individuals or particular payments.
A destination tag is a unique 9-digit number assigned to each XRP wallet address. This is necessary if you want to deposit or withdraw XRP. To get your XRP wallets destination tag, simply go to Funds Payment In Select XRP. You can find it below the QR code of your XRP wallet address.
Tip: If youre sure that theres no destination tag required, you can put 0 in the destination tag field. Important: If you put 0 as a Destination tag for a wallet used by multiple users, your funds will be lost PERMANENTLY. Please note: the minimum amount to send is 0.001 XRP.
The tag/memo is used to determine the individual account a transaction should be credited to. Example: Wallet address + unique destination tag/memo = correct recipient.
