[Music] in Microsoft Word we can work with tables and obviously were very comfortable working with text now although we can work with tables there are a couple of things that we can do here that would be easier to do than in Excel for example Im going to show you a couple of things here so yeah we have some text we have a couple of countries okay and some numbers so this would just be statistics data on anything and Im going to show you were gonna zoom out a bit just so you can see what Ive got there they are there and Im going to convert this into a table so we can then sort it and work with it and figure out a couple of things so at the moment this is just tab separated text now how do I know that first of all we go and we click on our show and hide Settings here okay Ill show in hide formatting so not settings switch that on now lets have a look you can see that I have got a word tab and then a number word tab number country tab number okay good Im going to select all of t

To adjust table row and column size in Word: Click anywhere in the table. In Table Tools click the [Layout] tab locate the Cell Size group and choose from of the following options: To fit the columns to the text (or page margins if cells are empty), click [AutoFit] select AutoFit Contents.
Convert a table to text. Select the rows or table you want to convert to text. On the Layout tab, in the Data section, click Convert to Text. In the Convert to Text box, under Separate text with, click the separator character you want to use in place of the column boundaries.

Click Edit Document Edit in Word for the web if you havent done so already. Press Ctrl+A to select all the text in your document. Click Home Shrink Font one or more times. As you click Shrink Font, Word decreases the size of every font in your document.
Text Alignment Click the Layout tab in the Table Tools ribbon group. Expand the Alignment group, if necessary. There are nine alignment options, letting you align the content to either side of a cell, any corner, or center it in the middle of the cell. Select an alignment option.
You can highlight the table, and under the Layout tab there is an option called Convert to Text. Click on that and it will convert the table into essay format.
You can also use a Shortcut by highlighting the table and press and leave the Alt Key, and press JLV, the Convert Table to Text dialog box will appear; click OK. This Shortcut also turns your table into a text.
