hello and welcome to our podcast on adaptation in film this stems from the saying that weamp;#39;ve heard thrown around a lot that the book is always better than the movie and we donamp;#39;t necessarily subscribe to that because as youamp;#39;ll see weamp;#39;re going to talk about books being books and movies being movies but we certainly wanted to talk about how texts are adapted and what that actually is letamp;#39;s go ahead and get started so what is adaptation adaptation is taking a previously published text and then changing it for some other medium now weamp;#39;ll be talking about changing text into film but weamp;#39;ll certainly make note of how other texts have been changed into other mediums throughout but for our purposes this is when we have some sort of original text that has been changed and made into a film now this is going to be different from writing a script and putting that on film many movies that we are watching today did start from an original
