- On todayamp;#39;s Tech Monday I am gonna show you how you can use your Mac to easily convert a bunch of large TIF and RAW files right over to JPEG, no special software needed. (chill music) Hi, everyone and welcome to pal2tech. If youamp;#39;re like me and you work with and edit your photos on a Mac, you probably save a final version of your photo or image in a layered TIF or perhaps a Photoshop file format, and that format is great if you wanna keep it in archive and perhaps come back to it at a later time and make additional edits to your image. Okay, in this example, Iamp;#39;ve got a few images. You see that? One is a Photoshop document. A few of them are Fujifilm mirrorless camera RAW files, and Iamp;#39;ve got a few TIF files as well. And have a look at this right here, the file sizes are really large. So letamp;#39;s say I wanna post this image on my website. Itamp;#39;s currently this TIF file right here. If I go and try and add this image using the editing tools in say

The size limit for a standard TIFF image is 4 GB. A TIFF image larger than that will be saved in Esri software as a BigTIFF. In 2004, BigTIFF was founded which changed the offset value as a 64-bit integer (8 bytes) that extends the theoretical maximum file size to 18,000 PB (petabytes).
To apply Super Resolution: Open a raw image, TIFF or JPEG in Loupe view. Select Photo Enhance in the menu bar (or, Control-click on a Mac/right-click in Windows on the image and click on Enhance. Select Super Resolution from the Enhance box.
To convert BigTIFF files into TIFF format, use the Reproject Raster Point Cloud Task (PCT) to generate a new file that is in TIFF format. Rasters created by LP360 processes can be created in this format. Make sure that the Create BigTIFF File option is unchecked when running this PCT. Reproject Raster PCT Settings.
Baseline TIFF image types are: bilevel, grayscale, palette-color, and RGB full-color images.
You have a few options when you need to resize a TIFF image. You can use an online service, like Fotor or PicResize, or a desktop program, like docHub Photoshop or GIMP. Both online services and desktop programs will allow you to change the dimensions of your TIFF images and the resolution.
A newer version of this file format, BigTIFF, uses 64-bit offsets and can create files larger than 4GB. Not all TIFF readers support BigTIFF files. TIFF and BigTIFF pages cannot be mixed within the same file: all the pages in the file must be either TIFF or BigTIFF.
A TIFF (or Tagged Image File Format) is also a raster image file format, in that its composed of a grid of pixels. TIFFs are typically uncompressed files or use lossless compression. This results in very high quality images and, subsequently, very large file sizes.
