If you have an image in your signature that has a DPI of, lets say, 300, the image will probably look very big. This happens because Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail scale images using the DPI value. To fix this, you will need to use an image processing tool such as Photoshop to change the images DPI setting.
The most common reason for email signature images changing in size is because the image resolution (in DPI) is not set to 72 DPI, or 96 DPI for older versions of Outlook (2016 and earlier). If your DPI settings are too high, youll likely end up with an enlarged image in your email signature.
If you are adding your signature to a self-signed document, you can adjust the size of the signatures youre placing. After youve positioned the signature on the page, click and drag the bottom right-hand corner of the bounding box. This will let you adjust the size.
How to Reduce Your Email Signature Size Compress All Images This is one of the most important points to note when trying to reduce your email signature size. Use Small Images One of the best ways to dramatically drop the size of your email signature is to simply use smaller images, in terms of resolution.
You will find that sometimes you get your email back and the font in your signature has changed. The most common is for the font to change to something more default like Times New Roman, a basic serif font. This may have happened because of the users preferences or because they lacked the font you sent originally.
Resizing an existing electronic signature file or logo file to be in the appropriate dimensions: Open Microsoft Paint (do not open the signature or logo file) Click the Resize button. Mark the option to resize the blank area by pixels and unmark the check box to Maintain aspect ratio
Create a new email in Outlook. Select the Insert tab in the options and click the Signature button. Chose the signature you want to resize. When the image has been inserted into the email, select the picture and drag the edge to adjust its size.
Email signature size dimensions Elements such as a company logo, social media icons, or banner images are integral to a professional signature design. The ideal image size for email signatures should be 300 to 400 pixels wide and 70 to 100 pixels high.
