now this one is my favorite when youamp;#39;re adding a function to an array what would you normally do first of all you would add the function to one cell then copy the cell and paste it in the entire column or else drag the column till the end of the array or what if there are thousands of rows well here is a simpler way use the array formula now letamp;#39;s say in this table in column E I want column B plus C minus D so what Iamp;#39;ll do is that first of all Iamp;#39;ll go to the cell E2 and add the function equal to B2 plus C2 minus D2 now I will put it in an array formula you can type the text array formula or simply press Ctrl shift enter on Windows or command shift enter on Mac now you will see that the function is encapsulated in the array formula now for each cell address replace it with the array like in this case B2 becomes B2 colon b19 C2 becomes C2 colon C90 and D2 becomes D2 colon D90 press enter and you can see the function gets copied to the entire array and yes
