To smoothen out the surface, take finer grit sandpaper, e.g. 1200-grit sandpaper, and sand down the scratched area. After that, clean the surface again using a damp cloth. Finally, polish the sanded area using a plastic/acrylic polishing compound to restore its original shine.
Clean the plastic surface with a damp cloth, rubbing in a circular motion around the scratch. Dry the area to remove any dirt which should make the process easier to carry out. Apply a mild abrasive, such as toothpaste, furniture polish, baking soda or plastic polish to the scratch.
Baking soda is a gentle mineral abrasive that will buff away scratches on plastic. Combine two parts baking soda to one part water to create a thick paste. Dip a cotton cloth in the paste and apply it to the scratched area. Work in a circular motion to buff away the scratch.
Start with the least fine sandpaper and fold it down to fit the size of the scratch you dont want to sand the un-scratched part of the surface. Wet the sandpaper to avoid it being too abrasive and gently rub over the scratch in a circular motion. Keep buffing until the scratch vanishes, but dont be too forceful.
The Process Step 1: Clean the area on and around the scratch with interior plastic cleaner. Step 2: Using a heat gun (at around half power), gently apply heat to the plastic until it begins to soften. Step 3: Apply a grain pad to the affected area, using very light pressure. Step 4: Let the area cool and harden.

For hard plastics like acrylic and polycarbonate, a buffing wheel is a good option. Turn the wheel on, and then hold the plastic up to the wheel where the scratch is. After a few minutes, the scratch should be gone. It will also work to buff up soft plastics, like motorcycle trim.
To bring back the shine, apply a small amount of either plastic or metal polishing compound, just enough to cover the dull spot, and apply in circular motions with a clean, dry cloth. You may need to repeat the process a few times, but, eventually, the plastic will gleam as good as new again.
Toothpaste is a mild abrasive meaning it can level out the area surrounding a scratch on a surface. Its effective in removing shallow scratches from materials such as plastic, even black plastic, glass and stainless steel. While toothpaste may be effective in removing shallow scratches, it wont work for deeper marks.
Non-gel toothpaste can be used as-is, and baking soda can be mixed with water until a pasty consistency is docHubed. Make sure the surface is completely clean of dirt, dust, and food particles. Then dab a small amount of the compound onto a microfiber cloth and rub it continuously over the scratch.
