if we have a patient right we put them in the scanner and letamp;#39;s say in this example weamp;#39;re going to do a acquire some transverse slice through the chest because weamp;#39;re interested in imaging the heart and right so the heart takes up some part of the chest itamp;#39;s not the whole chest and when we look at our resultant image all right so the image is going to fill up this square area how do you know or how do you determine what is going to fill up your image so if we were really interested in the heart right we might rather have right our image look like that without having all of that like other chest stuff especially if you were a cardiologist you really wouldnamp;#39;t want to see any of those other things but right but seriously if if if you were interested in the heart you would want your entire image to be the heart whereas if you were interested in a more Global picture of the chest right you might want to do it differently and have right the entire chest
