A powerful image is one that looks real. Remember, you are trying to evoke an emotion a genuine feeling in the viewer that connects them to the photograph. You want your viewer to mentally put themselves in the photograph, or at least, feel like they are in the same space as they view it.
As earlier stated, in photography, image appeal may be defined by the interest that a picture generates when viewed by a observer, other than the photographer. A common definition listed in the American Heritage Dictionary (2005) defines the adjective appealing as being attractive or beautiful.
Make use of the various composition techniques like rule of thirds, negative space, rule of odds, leading lines, perspective, framing, etc. to make the image/story interesting. Also, make sure you incorporate emotions into the image as humans are drawn to genuine portrayal of emotions a lot.
5 Ways to make your photos more interesting Change your angle. Every time you photograph a subject in one position, place or pose, think about all the possible angles you can shoot from that one position. Fill the frame. Focus on the details. Shoot through objects. Explore creative crops.

Avoid using a distracting background By using a plain background, the picture will emphasize your subject and give you a much better result. A noisy and distracting background will draw the eye away from the subject and make the whole picture look messy and amateurish.
The 4 Ingredients to a Powerful Image A story not told in words. A photo that tells a story is the kind of photo that doesnt need a caption. The modern perspective. Our collective point of view has changed in the last 10 years alone. Real photography. Originality.
