Oh welcome to this video that looks at what an image actually is on a computer now if you think back to ancient times people used to make images using little colored stone blocks and they would arrange those blocks in an order and the way they ordered them would create an image now modern times nothing really has changed if you look very closely at your monitor you'll see that the screen is made up of tiny little squares these squares are called pixels now the number of pixels you have on the screen is called your resolution I'm going to show you how you can make a simple picture using nothing but a spreadsheet so I'm going to create a Google spreadsheet and I've got one here if you don't know how to do that you just go to your Google Drive okay if you go to your Google Drive go to create and then go to spreadsheet here is my spreadsheet now I've got this picture of a space invaded here which I've used by coloring in cells now I've used a nifty little trick called conditional formatti...

Binarization is the method of converting any gray – scale image (multi tone image) into black – white image (two tone image) . To perform binarization process, first find the threshold value of gray scale and check whether a pixel having a particular gray value or not.
To perform binarization process, first find the threshold value of gray scale and check whether a pixel having a particular gray value or not. If the gray value of the pixels is greater than the threshold, then those pixels are converted into the white .
How can an image be represented in binary? Bitmap images are made up of individual pixels. The colour of each pixel is represented as a binary number so the whole image is therefore stored as a series of binary numbers.
The main reason binary images are particularly useful in the field of Image Processing is because they allow easy separation of an object from the background. The process of segmentation allows to label each pixel as 'background' or 'object' and assigns corresponding black and white colours.
Image Binarization is the conversion of document image into bi-level document image. Image pixels are separated into dual collection of pixels, i.e. black and white. The main goal of image binarization is the segmentation of document into foreground text and background.
BW = im2bw( I , level ) converts the grayscale image I to binary image BW , by replacing all pixels in the input image with luminance greater than level with the value 1 (white) and replacing all other pixels with the value 0 (black). This range is relative to the signal levels possible for the image's class.
A very important characteristic of a binary image is the distance transform. This gives the distance of every set pixel from the nearest unset pixel. The distance transform can be efficiently calculated.
An image is made of many pixels, each of them with a particular color. Modern computers can show up to 16.7 millions of different colors. It is impossible to store each one of these colors personnally, they are instead represented as a combination of three primary colors: red, green and blue (RGB color model).
BW = im2bw( I , level ) converts the grayscale image I to binary image BW , by replacing all pixels in the input image with luminance greater than level with the value 1 (white) and replacing all other pixels with the value 0 (black). This range is relative to the signal levels possible for the image's class.
Images also need to be converted into binary in order for a computer to process them so that they can be seen on our screen. Digital images are made up of pixels . Each pixel in an image is made up of binary numbers.
