No, you cannot change your revision history on Google Docs to be in the past. Google Docs keeps track of all changes made to a document, and these changes cannot be deleted or modified. This is to ensure that the document history is always accurate and complete.
File revisions are only kept for up to 30 days. No more than 100 file revisions are kept for any file. There is no version history kept for folder structures in Google Drive or Shared drives. In Google Drive or Shared drives, there is no way to recover a folder to a previous state.
You can download a text file of previous versions of your notes or lists to see changes youve made over time. This feature is currently rolling out and will launch gradually to all your notes. Important: You will only be able to see previous versions of text changes. Images wont appear in version history.
For Google Files, there is no limit mentioned to how far back the Version History is. However, Google Sheets may optimize the storage space by either merging some older versions or deleting some of the oldest changes if your Google Drive memory is close to full.
Comparing document versions Click on File: Go to the menu bar and select File. Select Version history: Choose See version history. Review changes: You can see different versions of your document and the changes made over time.
Any revision, other than the head revision, thats not designated as Keep Forever is purgeable. Purgeable revisions are typically preserved for 30 days, but can be purged earlier if a file has 100 revisions that are not designated as Keep Forever and a new revision is uploaded.
