hi everyone i wanted to do a quick programming video based on a user request so christopher c had emailed me to ask how can he enter a specific extended ascii character into a file when heamp;#39;s running freedos on a virtual machine and this is a rather specific request here because normally if youamp;#39;re running freedoms or any dos on actual hardware what you would do to enter a specific extended ascii character is youamp;#39;d hold down the alt key on your keyboard and then on the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard youamp;#39;d enter in the uh the the code the number for that extended ascii character just to kind of show you what i mean here if i bring up the freedos edit program under utilities so iamp;#39;m going to do all of you i can see an ascii table and so in the upper left hand corner you can see this from my cursor is right now itamp;#39;s zero zero that is the typical null position and if i move the cursor down you can see i get the filled in right
