One example of an ODM/OEM product that is commonly used in daily life is a smartphone. Many smartphone manufacturers, such as Apple and Samsung, design and develop their own phones, but they also work with original design manufacturers (ODMs) to produce parts or complete devices for them.
The main difference between OEM, ODM, and OBM is the level of involvement in the manufacturing process. OEMs design and manufacture products that are sold under another companys brand name, while ODMs manufacture products based on the designs and specifications provided by another company.
ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) For example, Apple is known for designing its own products, but it also uses ODMs to manufacture them. Foxconn, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, is one of the ODMs that Apple uses to produce iPhones, iPads, and other devices.
OEM original equipment manufacturer The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is the brand owner, the company whose logo displays on the final product. Think: Cisco, Dell, Samsung, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, Apple For example.
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, and ODM stands for Original Design Manufacturer.
OEM apps. In the mobile industry, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) refers to companies or people who manufacture their own phones in their own factories. For example, some of Androids OEMs include Samsung, LG, and NUU Mobile.
Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) The ODM model is an alternative where the outsourcing enterprise provides product specifications, and the ODM is responsible for both design and manufacturing. This approach can docHubly reduce development costs and simplify the supply chain.
