Who Will Be My Representative Payee? We try to select someone who knows you and wants to help you. Our main concern is that your payee is someone who can see you often and knows what you need. For that reason, if you live with someone who helps you, we usually select that person to be your payee.
Generally, the payee is the person to whom you make the payment, regardless of whether that person is the beneficial owner of the income. However, there are situations in which the payee is a person other than the one to whom you actually make a payment.
A payee is a person receiving money from another party (the payer) during a financial transaction. A payee is an individual or organisation providing goods or services in exchange for money. They can also provide money now in exchange for more money later, in the case of a loan such as a mortgage.

The person or entity to which a check or promissory note is originally payable.
The date must be written on the line in the top right corner of the check. The payees name goes on the first line in the center of the check. This is indicated by the phrase Pay to the Order Of. The amount of the check in a dollar figure is filled out in the box next to the payees name.

The reference is usually created by the sender at the time of making the transaction. For bank transfers, there is often a designated field where you can input this reference. If you are the recipient, the reference will appear in the payment details provided by your bank.
