hello all so today we are at exercise number eight we are basically going to explore the adapter pattern so we are going to create a pod that comprises of two containers the very first container uh will be doing the functional requirement and the second container will be doing a little bit of log normalization or I would say a parting of the a log output in a certain format so that it can be ingested into the third party tool right so if I go back to my yaml file this is the yaml file uh so what Im going to do is uh in in the very first container you can see that I am basically making the use of image which is nothing but busy box and I am basically uh redirecting certain output to this particular file disk space.txt which also includes a date and time as well so in the second container what Im going to do is I am basically going to eliminate all the time stamps from that particular file and therefore you know it might so this is the only thing which we are doing just for the demonst

The Adapter Pattern is an often-used pattern in object-oriented programming languages. Similar to adapters in the physical world, you implement a class that bridges the gap between an expected interface and an existing class.
In software engineering, the adapter pattern is a software design pattern (also known as wrapper, an alternative naming shared with the decorator pattern) that allows the interface of an existing class to be used as another interface.
This pattern involves a single class which is responsible to join functionalities of independent or incompatible interfaces. A real life example could be a case of card reader which acts as an adapter between memory card and a laptop.
You can use the Adapter design pattern when you have to deal with different interfaces with similar behavior (which usually means classes with similar behavior but with different methods). An example of it would be a class to connect to a Samsung TV and another one to connect to a Sony TV.
An Adapter pattern acts as a connector between two incompatible interfaces that otherwise cannot be connected directly. The main goal for this pattern is to convert an existing interface into another one the client expects.
One of the great real life example of Adapter design pattern is mobile charger. Mobile battery needs 3 volts to charge but the normal socket produces either 120V (US) or 240V (India). So the mobile charger works as an adapter between mobile charging socket and the wall socket.
In Android, Adapter is a bridge between UI component and data source that helps us to fill data in UI component. It holds the data and send the data to an Adapter view then view can takes the data from the adapter view and shows the data on different views like as ListView, GridView, Spinner etc.
