hello everyone how are you doing this is md tech here for another quick tutorial in todayamp;#39;s tutorial iamp;#39;m going to show you guys how to set up a password for your excel workbook if you want to protect the data and from people from opening it that should not be iamp;#39;m going to show you guys how to set a password and without further ado letamp;#39;s go ahead and jump right into it so go ahead and open up the excel workbook in question and then go up to the file tab up in the top left corner select the info option on the left panel here and on the right side versus protect workbook control what types of changes people can make to this workbook select the protect workbook button and you want to select versus encrypt with password require a password to open this workbook so at this point go ahead and insert the password caution if you lose or forget this password it cannot be recovered it is advisable to keep a list of passwords and their corresponding document

On the info page, click on the Protect Workbook box. Select the Encrypt with Password button from the drop-down menu. Delete the password from the pop-up window that appears so the text box is blank. Then, click the OK button to remove the password from your Excel spreadsheet.
If you do not know the password, upload the document to the LostMyPass and start the password recovery process. After it is successful, you will receive the document password, and then you can open it and remove the password protection yourself.

Navigate to the File menu on the top-left and go to Info. Click on Protect Workbook dropdown and click on Encrypt with Password. Enter the new password and re-enter it to confirm. Hit OK.
Select the Info button from the drop-down menu. On the info page, click on the Protect Workbook box. Select the Encrypt with Password button from the drop-down menu. Delete the password from the pop-up window that appears so the text box is blank.
