diana gregory from my patreon page asked me a question of how to protect the excel worksheet if you want to share the data with 20-ish people and want to make sure that no data is accidentally overwritten or changed so letamp;#39;s get into work so letamp;#39;s look at this simple spreadsheet where i have the names i have the four quarters and i have the sales data here on row 7 and row 8 i have added the formulas for both sum and average so when i want to share the sheet i donamp;#39;t want anybody to change any values i donamp;#39;t want them to change this row or column a data or row and seven and eight data i want my team to only change this data how do i do that so you only select the data that you want your team to change just select the data right click and go to format cells click on the protection tab insert lock click unlock and hit ok and then go to review tab and click on protect sheet just type in the password that you want and click ok now when you try to change it it

On the info page, click on the Protect Workbook box. Select the Encrypt with Password button from the drop-down menu. Delete the password from the pop-up window that appears so the text box is blank. Then, click the OK button to remove the password from your Excel spreadsheet.
Open the document, worksheet, or presentation. Go to File Info. Select Protect Workbook, point to Restrict Permission by People, and then select Manage Credentials.
Re: Excel password protected - how to unprotect Go to File Info Protect Workbook Encrypt with Password. Delete the password and click OK. Save and close the workbook.
Navigate to the File menu on the top-left and go to Info. Click on Protect Workbook dropdown and click on Encrypt with Password. Enter the new password and re-enter it to confirm. Hit OK.

If the worksheet is protected, do the following: On the Review tab, select Unprotect Sheet (in the Protect group). Select Protect Sheet to change to Unprotect Sheet when a worksheet is protected. If prompted, enter the password to unprotect the worksheet.
Require a password to open or modify a workbook Open the sheet or workbook that you want to protect. On the Review tab, click Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook. In the Password box, type a password, and in the Verify box, type the password again. Choose any other protection options you want and click OK. Click Save.
For stronger protection, set read-only status by locking the workbook with the Finder, or require a password to save changes. Open the workbook you want to protect. Click the File menu, and then click Passwords. In the File Passwords dialog box, select the Read-only recommended check box, and click OK.
