Open your Character styles panel select the paragraph and click None to remove any Character styles. Look at the bottom to see if any are being applied automatically. 2. Select your text and clear your overrides by clicking the Pilcrow at the bottom of the Paragraph styles panel.
Apply styles Select the text you want to format. Tip: If you place your cursor in a paragraph, the style is applied to the whole paragraph. On the Home tab, point to a style to preview it. If you dont see a style you want, click the More button. Select a style.
Format the text in your table of contents Go to References Table of Contents Custom Table of Contents. Select Modify. In the Styles list, click the level that you want to change and then click Modify. In the Modify Style pane, make your changes. Select OK to save changes.
Go to Home and select Line and Paragraph Spacing Line Spacing Options at the bottom of the menu. The Paragraph dialog box opens. On the Indents and Spacing tab, select the options you want, and click OK. The Paragraph dialog box options are described in Adjust indents and spacing.
On the Home tab, right-click any style in the Styles gallery and click Modify. In the Formatting section, make any formatting changes you want, such as font style, size, or color, alignment, line spacing, or indentation. Choose whether the style change applies to the current document or to all future documents.
Create styles Select text. Select Type Paragraph styles to open Paragraph styles panel. Click Create a New Style to create a style with the selected text format. You can follow similar steps in the Character styles tab to create a new Character style.
