In this video Ill show you how to publish a simple e-pub file directly from pages. So lets get started. The first thing I want to do is select a blank template in pages. You must start with a blank template to publish to epub since youll need to control all the formatting and styles yourself. Ive already removed all the formatting from my text and im going to paste it into my blank pages document. Im going to access the style drawer by clicking the blue icon in the upper left corner of the screen. And that will show me all the styles that I can apply back to my unformatted text. The first thing I am going to do is apply the body paragraph style to all of my text, and im doing that because most of my text will have that style so ill just go ahead and apply it to everything and go back and make changes where I need to. And for this text ive decided that each part of the book will be a chapter and each section thats already identified in the text will also be a section in my e-pub. I

Editing an EPUB. An EPUB is essentially a ZIP file containing nested folders with XHTML text, images, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), embedded fonts, and metadata files. Almost anyone can edit EPUB files with the help of an eBook editing tool, although some familiarity with hypertext markup language (HTML) is helpful.
There are a number of EPUB editors that can open, edit and save edits such as Sigil, Calibre, Oxygen, docHubner, Jutoh and Blue Griffon.
Well, you can change the metadata of the ePub by using Sigil: press the key F8 (or go to the Tool menu and there select Metadata Editor. In the dialog that appears you have a field named Author:; here is when you can write the correct name as you want.
Another common approach is to crack open the EPUB. First un-zip it into a file-and-folder structure filled with HTML, CSS, and a bunch of other files. Then perform a global search-and-replace on the unzipped folder structure. Finally, re-zip the file-and-folder structure into a new, updated EPUB file.
You can export a document or book as reflowable or fixed layout EPUB format. Do one of the following: Specify a filename and location. From the Save as Type list choose EPUB (Fixed Layout) or EPUB (Reflowable), and then click Save. In the EPUB Export Options dialog box, specify the desired options and click OK.
Can I convert an EPUB to a PDF? Its easy to convert EPUB files to PDFs, but you will need to use a file converter like Zamzar. The free online conversion tool on Zamzars website just has three steps upload your EPUB file, choose PDF, then Convert Now, and then download your file.
There are basically two ways to do get your ebook looking and working the way you want it to: Open up the file (as I showed you in Inside the Black Box) and use a text-editor like TextEdit or Notepad or a dedicated HTML editor like Dreamweaver. Use a WYSIWYG ebook editor.
