The ribbon is a versatile strip lighting product ideal for signage, demonstrated here to create a halo illumination effect in thin acrylic letters. The letters are milled from two layers of acrylic using a CNC router. The process begins by laying LED strips into the front layer, trimming them as needed, soldering wires, and removing the adhesive liner. Next, the LED strip is embedded in the front layer, which is painted white. After wiring all letters, the backing layer of opal acrylic is attached to act as a diffuser. The wires are fed through the wall, and the letters are mounted and connected to an external power supply. This setup produces a white illuminated edge and halo effect in the letters, showcasing the creative potential of the ribbon strip from Bounce LED.
