To turn the keyboard on/off for your Mac, go to System Preferences by clicking the Apple logo in the top left. In System Preferences, click on Keyboard and uncheck the box to turn off the keyboard backlight. For Macs with F keys, press F5 to adjust brightness. For Macs with a touch bar, press "Show All," then press the button facing left to turn off the backlight. Press the button facing right to turn the backlight back on.
